UPDATE at 4:30 PM: More engines have been called up to help with the Airola fire. Caltrans has
been called in to help with traffic at Hwy 4 and Parrotts Ferry Road.UPDATE at 4:20 PM: Douglas Flat is being evacuated.
UPDATE at 3:40 PM: Fire now 300-400 acres with rapid rate of spread. Evacuations are mandatory.
UPDATE at 3:30 PM: Fire is 150 acres at this time. Air tankers have been requested.
UPDATE: Parrotts Ferry Road is closed at Hwy 4 due to the fire. CHP is at Hwy 4 and on Parrotts Ferry on the Tuolumne County side of the bridge in Columbia.
UPDATE: Evacuations are taking place on Parrotts Ferry Road up to Hwy 4 in Vallecito. The Calaveras
Sheriff's Office has been called to the scene.
August 25, 2021 at 3 PM: A fire has been reported at Parrotts Ferry Road and the bridge at Melones on the Calaveras County side.
Apparently it is headed up the hillside. Several engines, dozers and helicopters are responding.
