Fair Discussed At Board Meeting

Laurie Giannini came before the Board of Supervisors to announce that this years County Fair will be dedicated to the City of Angels Camp, which is celebrating it's  100th year of incorporation this year. It was pointed out that Angels Camp agreed to put on the first frog jump on the streets of downtown Angels, and the rest is history.

An interesting fact that Giannini brought out was that in 1893 the Fair Board Directors each put up $125 to finance the fair. She said that when she suggested that to the current Directors, they were not embracing that idea.
The FFA is planting a garden on the Fairgrounds, with the vegetables to be donated to the Food Bank.
Supervisor Callaway mentioned what a tumultuous year it has been at the fairgrounds, both with finances and changing management. She reminded everyone that they should go out and jump a frog this year.
