Local Teacher Demands Night BOS Meetings

A teacher from Calaveras High School came to the podium at Tuesday morning's Board of Supervisors meeting to complain that they don't hold night meetings, and that the working class and youth are not able to attend 9 AM meetings. He wants it agendized to have regular evening meetings.
He made a statement that business owners are able to come to meetings easily, but that their employees do not have that freedom.
Is this guy on a different planet? I know many business owners who say they work even longer hours than their employees, and have no freedom to just pick up and run down to the Board of Supervisors; one even told us he has trouble finding time to get a haircut. This is the kind of TEACHERS UNION mentality that exists in our county. And he is allowed to influence our children? Something is not right here.
While we feel it would be nice for the Board to hold evening meetings occasionally, we do not agree with any of the rest of his thinking. He sounded jealous of business owners in general, and has a bad attitude in which to be teaching at all. He is probably vested and therefore the district will never be able to get rid of him, though. If this is and example of how our children are being brainwashed in public school, no wonder so many people are pulling their children out and putting them in private or homeschooling.
