In what appears to have been a tragic accident, a mother and daughter were found under the ice in a pond near their home.
They were located after a rescue person noticed a hole in the ice out on the pond.
Authorities have stated they believe it was a tragic accident, although they may never know exactly how it happened.
Do not walk out on ponds or lakes that appear to be iced over. The ice can be thinner than you realize, especially in Northern Califonia.
