Fowler 911 tape raises questions

Yesterday, May 14, 2013 authorities released the 911 tape that Leila Fowler's step-mother
made to the Sheriff's department in Calaveras County.

Questions arise, since on the tape, she says that Leila is "freaking out", which seems to indicate that the 9 year old was still alive at the time of the phone call.

According to the tape, the children had called her from home to her cell phone, telling her about a break-in and that her son was in the bathroom at the time.

Due to these questions, and perhaps due to the fact that an attorney recommended that the entire family needed representation by a lawyer, they cancelled their previously requested press conference scheduled for  yesterday afternoon.

Since Juveile proceedings are private, no press or members of the public are allowed in the courtroom when the brother is charged with 2ne degree (no premeditation) murder today, May 15, 2013.

If convicted, the boy could be held only until he is 25 years old in a juvenile facility. He is under 14 and therefore cannot be tried as an adult under California law.

While discussing the case, we heard one attorney say that he may not have been aware of the consequences of his actions.

Another said that the fact that the boy lied and covered up the alleged act, that it proved he did know it would have consequences.
