If the public pay, in part or in whole, for a new football stadium, is it all right to black out games locally, on TV.
The NFL does this to force people to attend the games, buying tickets. McCain thinks this is unfair and has proposed legislation to prevent the practice.
We agree. It probably will not pass, but at least the discussion has begun. If we help pay for the stadium, we should be able to see the games televised there.
