The last report on May 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM was that the Panther Fire at Butte Meadows in Tehama County is 2000 acres and only 10% contained.
27 engines, 497 firefighters, 8 dozers and 5 water tenders are now battling this fire in windy and dry conditions.
This fire is being driven by down canyon winds in rugged terrain. The incident base is set up at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds.
