Springs Fire now 10,000 acres--see photo below

   The Springs Fire in Ventura County near Camarillo grew overnight to 10,000
acres and is only 10% contained. It is headed towards Malibu.

   15 residences, 5 commercial properties and 15 outbuildings have  have been damaged as of CalFire's 6:30 AM report today, May 3, 2013.

    4000 residences, 300 commercial properties and 50 outbuildings are now threatened.  Evacuations are in effect for Portrero Road to Lewis Rd, Yerba Buena Road and Deer Creek Rd, Sycamore Canyon, Brome Ranch and La Jolla Canyon.

   Evacuations for CalState and Dos Vientos have been lifted and reopened to residents only.

   Currently there are 90 engines, 20 crews, 6 airtankers, 8 helicopters and 2 watertenders assigned to this fire.

   Hwy 1 (Pacific Coast Hwy) is still closed from Las Posas Rd and the Ventura/LA County line.
