Man arrested in Jamestown

According to the Tuolumne County CHP, on May 26, 2014 at 1:55 AM, Andrew John Watkins,  observed operating a Toyota pickup with non-operational rear license plate lights.

Watkins was also observed, according to CHP traveling at an unsafe speed, crossing over double yellow painted lines, and traveling into the opposing traffic lane.

An enforcement stop was attempted upon Watkins for the aforementioned violations. However, Watkins accelerated rapidly from CHP Officer S. Warzee and Officer F. Pulicia in an attempt to flee from capture.

After the short pursuit, Watkins drove into a dirt driveway at an address of 149 Snell Street and took leg bail (we looked it up, means took FLIGHT) from the vehicle.

Watkins was immediately captured and taken into custody.  During the investigation, it was determined that Watkins was operating the motot vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license status.

He was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail.
