According to CHP on May 23, 2014 at 7:15 PM Kyle Hamersley (19) of Arnold was driving a 2000 Jeep in the westbound traffic lane of Hwy 4 at approximately 45 MPH.
For an unknown reason he allowed the Jeep to travel to the right and off the paved portion of the roadway while attempting to negotiate a natural curve in the roadway to his left.
The Jeep then struck a steep embankment and overturned. After the collision the Jeep came to rest on its wheels facing an easterly direction blocking the westbound traffic lane of Hwy 4.
Hamersley was transported to Mark Twain Medical Center with minor injuries.
