According to CHP on June 21, 2014 around 7:30 PM Neal Goddard (58) of Railroad Flat was blocking Ridge Road near Railroad Flat due to his disabled 1958 Ford Flatbed truck.
Theodore Erkson (28) of San Andreas was driving his 1997 Honda Civic northbound on Ridge Road approaching Goddard's vehicle at approximately 50 MPH.
Erkson failed to see that Goddard was stopped in the roadway due to the bright sunlight and collided with the back of Goddard's truck.
Erkson and his passenger, Ashley Margaritz (9) of San Andreas were taken to Sutter Amador Hospital with minor injuries.
Erkson's other passenger, Dusty Berkson (7) of San Andreas was taken to UC Davis Medical Center with moderate injuries.
