According to CalFire, on June 18, 2014 at 7:46 AM, they were called to respond to a fire at a residential structure on Cave City Road in Mountain Ranch.
The structure was already 50% involved when CalFire arrived on scene. Units from West Point, Valley Springs, San Andreas, Altaville, Esperanza, Standard and the Vallecito Hand Crew were dispatched to this fire.
One civilian apparently died in the fire. The cause is under investigation. The value of the loss of the structure was $250,000.
