On June 7, 2015 around 11 AM, the California Highway Patrol arrested Ryan Douglas VanCleave of Murphys at his residence there on Nickerson Lane, after an investigation of an incident that been reported the night before.
VanCleave was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged DUI/Alcohol or drugs, causing Great Bodily Injury, Hit and Run resulting in Death or injury and Willful Cruelty to a child, all felonies and for Battery on a Person, a misdemeanor.
