States with highest firearm death rates and violent crimes

   The Center for Disease Control keeps records now of  gun related deaths in the US.  The number 1 state for violent crimes is Alaska and gun deaths were 19.6 of every 100,000 residents. They have no permit requirements for hand guns.

   The number 2 state is Louisiana with 19.1 of 100,000 residents died of gun related deaths. 8552 people died in 2013 from guns. They have no permit requirements and the poverty level is 19.8%, among the highest in the nation.  

   Number 3 on the list is Mississippi, with 17.7 per 100,000 residents dying of gun related deaths. 5056 died in 2013 from guns. They have no gun permit process and their poverty rate is the highest in the country  at 24%.
