It's official! Governor Brown has signed into law the "California Racial Mascots Act", barring racially offensive names used by certain schools in the state.
Out question is, why has Calaveras Unified School District continued to use the offensive mascot term, even after knowing it was in the legislature.
They've had years to find a new name. Now that is truly offensive, and shows what the district really thinks of Native Americans!!
