Fatal motorcycle collision in Jamestown

   According to CHP on July 30, 2016 around 7:30 AM John David Wagner (47) of Jonesboro, Arkansas was driving a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta headed east on Hwy 120 near Jacksonville Road in Jamestown at approximately 70 MPH.

   A male (50) of Sunnyvale, was riding a 2015 BMW K1300 motorcycle
was also headed east on Hwy 12 at a high rate of speed approaching the Volkswagen.

   The motorcycle turned to the left into the westbound lane to pass the Volkswagen.  The left side of the Volkswagen collided with the right side of the motorcycle in the westbound lane of Hwy 120.

   As a result of the initial collision the motorcycle was propelled onto the shoulder, continuing on its wheels through the shoulder and collided with a raised asphalt curb.

   This propelled the motorcycle into the air, down a dirt embankment where they collided with a downed tree, coming to rest on the embankment.

   The driver of the Volkswagen parked on the westbound should of Hwy 120.

   As a result of the collision the motorcycle rider sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.

   Per CHP, alcohol and or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision.
