August 22, 2012 at 8 AM: We finally got a report that this fire was contained at around 2/10th of an acre. It was near Tryon Peak on Calaveras Road in the Highland Lakes area of Ebbetts Pass. It had been caused by lightning.
Yes, it's true. There was another fire started in Ebbetts Pass this afternoon August 20, 1012 around 4 PM. Those who saw the engines go out said they never saw them get out there that fast.
We haven't had an official report, but over the scanner, they were saying it was again near a clear cut area, and they thought they could stop it at around ten acres.
