Firefighters Trying to Save Seneca in Chips Fire

If you've been following the Chips Fire, you know that Seneca was evacuated and the fire has since surrounded the little mountain community.

If you double-click to enlarge this map, you will
see the tiny area of Seneca, surrounded by fire.
Last night, crews set backfires to try and save the homes and historical buildings there. They are hopeful that the firing worked.

The total acres burnied in the Chips fire  is now 74, 125, and containment is now 91%. It will take years to rebuild the beautiful forest and wildlife destroyed in this fire.
