August 21, 2012 at Noon: The Ponderosa Fire in Tehama/Shasta Counties is 19,627 acres and is currently 35% contained. 3000 homes are threatened. Manton has been evacuated and schools closed until further notice. Hwy 36 is heavily inpacted due to fire resouces usage. Use caution if driving in that area.
