Put Postals Out of Their Misery?

On the APWU (American Postal Workers Union) website on August 10, 2012, a cartoon appeared of a man with a pointer, showing how much money the US Postal Service has lost and continues to lose.

The headline said "Postal Service posts a $5.2 Gazillion loss, begs to be put out of it's misery."

Then it went on to say "But we're now on Twitter."

The APWU encouraged all of its members to be political and only support Democrats.

This is an excellent example of the union's attitude towards the taxpayer, and the public who is forced to buy stamps from a monopoly.

Rest assured, the jokes people have made over the years about $1 stamps ARE COMING TRUE!

At least if the Postal Service has anything so say about it. The union (APWU) does not face the reality that they are now out of date with the real world.

Most of us avoid the bad treatment and disinterest we receive by rude, nasty, but well-paid mailpersons.

We did speak to a person who gets their mail delivered, so they don't have to go to the Post Offices to collect their bills and advertisements. They said they are happy with their service.

We checked that out. They are being delivered by a very nice CONTRACT worker! The only people who complain about them are the APWU workers.

We have been told many times that these contract workers are badly treated by APWU members, which is inexcusable.

If they lay off half of the employees (the APWU won't allow this) and cut their wages and benefits in half, (the APWU won't allow this)  they might survive, but this is a very lonnng shotttt!

Meanwhile folks, our advice is to continue to avoid the Post Office whenever you can. E-mail is the best communication now, and UPS and FedEx, among others,  handle packages  with courtesy and efficiency.

By the way, the APWU continues to spend millions on TV ads trying to scare the older people into believing we cannot live without them.  We can!  Put the entire system UP FOR BID!

This scandal is indicative of all government union jobs where people feel entitled to high pay and benefits and feel they can get away with treating the public bad.
We aren't customers that are paying their wages; we are pains in the butt to be gossiped about treated like garbage.
Oh, the tales I could tell!

I heard that the union is telling them all to be especially nice right now to try and influence Congress into bailing them out. But I know how they really are!

There are some real creeps allowed to work for them and the unions protect them.

I even heard they are not allowing any complaints to come through until the money comes in.

There was a time when unions were important, but that time is past. they got too greedy, too arrogant and are totally political.
If your post office employee is not nice to you, you are most likely a Republican. They know in this rural area.

you know, i think most of them are fairly decent, but it only takes a few bad apples to make the whole barrel turn bad and look bad.
