One Question for Angels Camp City Council

September 11, 2012:   We have just one question for the Angels Camp City Council, who apparently was not consulted before Michael McHatten, City Administrator fired Craig Hadley yesterday.

"Is McHatten's contract an "at-will" contract and does our City Council have the guts to do their job and investigate the actions taken by McHatten?"

that's the problem. the more power the council gives away the less control they have at all. maybe we need a city council who tells the administrator what to do instead of the other way around.

Isn't this what happened with that other city administrator. it seems to me he took over everything and that city council did what they were told. why would they let that happen again?

Not very good timing on McHattens part. Who is taking over his job with their 100 year thing coming up?

Everyone seemed to like Craig Hadley. Can't say the same for McHatten. His way or the highway.

I am disappointed to see the negative commnets posted here. Michael McHatten has done a great job after inheriting a mess from the former inept City Managers. He and the City Council have been supportive of the museum and this must have been a very difficult situation. The details are confidential so none of us know what happened. Baed on his track record so far, I am giving McHatten the benefit of the doubt.

Too hasty a decision makes Mr McHatten look bad. He did it himself.

seems like the city council gave him too much authority. they must be getting lazy and want someone else to do their jobs

what could possibly have been the rush? did you give him the benefit of the doubt?

that's two quesitons

Maybe the timing was especially appropriate, and possibly well calculated under particular circumstances unknown to us at present.
