Accident on Hwy 4 at Poole Station Rd.

On Sunday, December 6, 2013 at approximately 12:20 PM, according to the CHP, Joshua Lappin, 21, of Petaluma was driving a 2007 Nissan in the eastbound traffic lane of Hwy 4 at approximately 55 MPH.

The speed, in combination with the wet roadway, caused the Nissan to lose traction with the roadway.

Lappin lost control of the Nissan, attempted to control by turning the steering wheel, but he was unable to regain control.

The Nissan traveled to the left, across the solid double yellow lines, and off the roadway.

Then the Nissan traveled across large erosion control boulders located along the embankment while rotating counterclockwise.

The Nissan then struck a barbed wire fence, a then a large boulder, coming to rest on its wheels facing in a westerly direction off the roadway, and down the embankment.

Lappin was transported to Mark Twain Hospital with minor injuries.
