July 8, 2013: At around 12:45 PM today a fire was reported about 1/2 mile of Hwy 50 near Kyburz. Hwy 50 is closed at Pollock Pines.
2 air tankers, one helicopter, and 8 engines are on site. ten more engines and 7 hand crews are on order, per USFS.
Named the Kyburz fire, it is listed as 25 acres at this point.
