According to a CHP report, On April 17, 2014 at approximately 9:15 PM Shangyu Terence Yeo (27) of Austin, Texas was traveling in a 2013 Hyundai southbound within the northbound lane of Tuolumne Road North, south of Cedar Springs Road in Twain Harte at a stated speed of 25-30 MPH.
Brenton Keith Berry (30) of Sonora was driving a 2013 International CalFire fire engine northbound on Tuolumne Road North, south of Cedar Springs Road at a stated speed of approximately 35 MPH.
Per the report, as the Fire Truck approached a right curve in the roadway, Berry noticed that the Hyundai was traveling directly towards him, in his lane.
The driver of the Fire Truck attempted to avoid a collision by steering the CalFire truck to the left; however the driver of the Hyundai attempted to avoid the collision by steering his car to the right.
As a result the front of the Hyundai collided with the front of the CalFire truck.
the northbound lane of Tuolune Road North was shut down for approximately 25 minutes to remove the vehicles out of the roadway.
There were no injuries resport as a result of this collision. Passenger in the Hyundai was Lysis Tassn Yan Rong (24) of Austin, Texas.
There were 2 passengers in the CalFire truck; Chris Anderson (40) of Oakdale and Sean Starrett (27) of Soulsbyville.
