We will be publishing an OP-ED by Robert Jensen later today on the controversy surrounding whether or not the US should still honor Christopher Columbus with his own day.
A movement is afoot to remove this day or to change the name of the holiday to something more appropriate. Stay tuned!
Meanwhile, banks, post offices and government offices get a day off with pay.
