Car vs. pole on Pool Station Road

UPDATE on May 26, 2016 at 9:15 AM:  Per CHP on May 24, 2016 around 9:30 AM Jamie Ruth Mayer (20) of Campbell was driving a 2006 Subaru on Pool Station Road north of Riata Road at approximately 50 MPH.

Mayer traveled around a left curvature in the roadway and the right side tires traveled onto the right dirt shoulder.

As a result, Mayer lost control of the Subaru and traveled out of control before colliding with a PG&E power pole.

The power pole fell to the ground and a small grass fire started which was extinguished by emergency fire crews.

Pool Station Road was closed in both directions for approximately one hour. Mayer was transported to Mark Twain Hospital where she was treated for her minor injuries.
