UPDATE at 10:50 AM: CHP has just re-opened Hwy 16.
December 25, 2017 at 7:30 AM: A gasoline tanker truck have been reported on fire on Hwy 16 near Copper Hill Road in the Ione area.
The truck has 8300 gallons of gasoline and is apparently fully engulfed in flames. Several fire units are responding to the scene. Hwy 16 is closed at Ione.
