On Christmas morning a CHP unit that was sitting on patrol specifically to watch for DUI drivers on 880 in Hayward was struck violently from behind by a Cadillac.
It hit so hard the CHP unit now looks like a compact car. It killed one of the two officers inside the patrol unit. The driver of the Cadillac is alleged to be DUI.
