Calaveras Supervisors take out LOAN to fix roof

The new roof and or repairs are costing the taxpayers $174,000. Since there is NO money in the coffers, the Supervisors opted to borrow this money.

Called Certificates of Participation (COP's), this is a government's way of trying to hide the fact that they borrow money because they have not enough in the General Fund or even the Teeter Fund.

Thank you lame duck Supervisors Oliveira and Clapp for assisting the county to be in debt!!

What a bunch of whiners! You've elected Merita and Stopper. Now you have three votes for the return of marijuana growing, with district two. I would not be surprised if Tofanelli does not join the three, considering he used to be best buds with Tryon, who grew marijuana the last round.

Thank goodness Merita will be in office again. We need some fiscal responsibility here.

ANOTHER LOAN? LORD.
