Lee was the Chief of Police of Sanford at the time of the Trayvon Martin killing.
He was only Chief for 1 year and was removed in June of 2012.
Was he aware that the tape of the 911 call was going to be played for the Martin family? Yes, was his answer. He said that each person should listen to the tape individually, not in a group?
He asked to be present but was excluded from the room. The city manager was his boss and he said no.
He resigned in March amid allegations of allowing George Zimmerman to get off without charges. There has been a search for a new Chief since that time.
He wanted to get a variety of tapes and have each person listen to them and pick out the voice. '
(HUH?) No wonder he lost his job?
