Officer Serino called to the stand in Zimmerman trial

July 8, 2013 Zimmerman trial.  Officer Zimmerman was called as a witness for the defense.

Immediately another sidebar with the judge. Five attorneys at bench.

"Did there come a time when you spoke with Tracy Martin, Trayvon's father into your office?"
asked the defense attorney.

"We were in the conference room on the 2nd floor and then I played the tape for Mr. Martin at my desk, on my computer."

He's not sure if it was on a CD or digital, the volume was audible.  Then he asked if that was his sons voice yelling for help. Serino said he thought he looked down and said "no".

On cross-examination, the State asked about the Sgt that stopped by and that Officer Singleton was not there. She had just told the court that she was present. Very interesting.

The State asked " Did you tell him he would hear the tape of the gunshot?"  Serino said no, he didn't tell him, and the father was acting appropriately to that fact of his son dying.

And you played other tapes about the case? He was having a hard time dealing with it? Serino said yes, but he wanted to know what was going on in the case. He wanted answers.

The State asked if that was normal, and Serino said "yes".
