Transient attacks utility worker in Jamestown

    According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff's department on Wednesday April 9, 2014 around 9:15
AM 32 year-old David Sean Johnson, was reportedly walking
on 5th Ave. in Jamestown.

   He apparently approached a utility worker who was seated in his work truck. Johnson saw a cell phone in the truck and claimed the phone was his.

   The utility worker explained it was a work phone. The utility worker felt uncomfortable, exited the truck, picked up his orange cones and loaded them into the truck.

   As the worker was approaching his driver's door, Johnson allegedly blocked his path and claimed the utility truck was his.

   Per the report, Johnson then hit the worker in the face and a fight ensued as the worker was calling for someone to call the police.

   CHP then arrived at the scene and was able to detain Johnson. Tuolumne County Sheriff's deputies arrived and placed Johnson under arrest.

   A search of his person was conducted and they found him to be in possession of a dirk or dagger, fireworks, and a "heavy bolt tied to the end of a rope".

    Johnson began to scream he was the "Star of David" and he spit at the deputies. He was placed in leg restraints due to his ongoing combative behavior and taken to the Tuolumne County Jail.

   At the jail it is alleged he fought with jail staff and bit a deputy. Two other deputies apparently received minor injuries.

   Deputies utilized a taser and Johnson was tased. He was restrained and placed in a secure "restraint chair".

   The utility worker also receive an injured ankle in the incident.

    Johnson is 32 years of age, and was charged with three felonies and three misdemeanors.
