During the televised channel 9 debate Calaveras Supervisor Edson was asked what he though of Smart Growth.
He actually stated that it was part of Agenda 21
and that people would be forced to leave their rural land and live in tightly packed housing. Fortunately Sharon Romano corrected the lie, which is a well-known Tea Party favorite.
While Smart Growth is suggested for new building in areas with public water and sewer, there is no connection with Agenda 21, which is for developing countries, nor is there any requirements for anyone to move to highly populated areas.
