At the May 10, 2016 meeting of the Calaveras Supervisors Laurie Giannini presented a plaque to Supervisor Debbie Ponte for her contributions to the Fair and her selfless work at the fairgrounds during the Butte Fire.Giannini was holding back tears during the presentation. Then, Bully Supervisor Edson took over instead of allowing Ponte to handle it, insisting on announcing the Calaveras County Fair and Frog Jump the 3rd weekend in May.

She is a great supervisor and citizen. We will be at a loss when she retires from the Board
