According to CHP on September 3, 2016 around 3:10 AM Colby W. Westberg (20) of Copperopolis was driving a 2000 Dodge headed towards Copperopolis just west of
Bonanza Mine Road in Angels Camp at an unknown speed.
For unknown reasons the vehicle was allowed to enter the north shoulder, and Mr. Westberg lost control, consequently rolling over into the eastbound lane.
Per CHP it appeared Mr. Westberg was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
It is not known if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision. It is still under investigation.
