Neal Mangin of Murphys

    Neal "Judson" Mangin of Murphys passed away on May 17, 2016. He was 90 years old.

   Born on June 4, 1925 in San Jose, he graduated from San Jose High School and served n the Coast Guard during WWII.

   Judd was employed by PG&E for many years in San Jose and was instrumental in the PSEA events for many years.

   After leaving PG&E he was manager for the National Electric Contractor's Association in San Jose for 17 years. He was involved in many labor negotiations in Washington, DC. Judd remained in the electrical field until his retirement in 1986.

   Judd and wife Marcielle retired to Arnold in 1986 and eventually moved to Murphys Diggins.

   Judd enjoyed his later years with his second wife Janet Peterson Mangin, where their home was always filled with song and laughter and many jokes told by Judd.

   Judd and his wife Janet enjoyed many types of music, singing was a joy for both of them.

  He is survived by his wife Janet Peterson Mangin of Murphys, brothers Jack Mangin and spouse Delight Mangin of Bend, Oregon, and daughter-in-law Carolyn Mangin of Boulder City,  Nevada.

   He also leaves step-children Jim Peterson and spouse Rosalie of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Janelle Peterson-Ehret and spouse John Ehret of Arnold, and Tonya Peterson and spouse Jana Pisciotta of Murphys.

   He is survived by grandchildren Christopher Timothy Mangin and spouse Kasey Mangin of Boulder City, Nevada, Gina Jayette Mangin of Boulder City, Nevada, Amy Mika Moore of Paradise, Judson James Williams and fiancĂ© Jessi F. Amundson of Paradise, Tyler James Mangin and spouse Jennifer Marie Mangin of Medford, Oregon, Thomas Patrick Mangin and spouse Jasmine Mangin of White City, Oregon, Julie Weist of Murphys and Michael Weist of Isleton.

   He leaves great-grandchildren Cruz Michael Mangin, Mazzy Elizabeth Mangin, Max Charles Mangin, Jaxson Lee Mangin of Boulder City, Nevada, Marley River Moore and Jacob Price Moore of Paradise and Little Rock Arkansas and Naomi Joy Mangin and Natalie Faith Mangin of Medford, Oregon.

   He also leaves many nieces and nephews who share in loving thoughts for the loss of their Uncle Judd. 

    A heartfelt appreciation to Mike White,  friend and caretaker in Murphys.

    Judd was predeceased by Marcielle Del Mar Jayet Mangin, his beloved wife of 60 years, Michael Stephen Mangin, his son, Nancy Mangin, his sister-in-law, and Bill Peterson, his stepson.

   Friends and family gathered at the home of his beloved wife Janet Peterson on Friday, June 3, 2016 and enjoyed singing and laughter.

   There was a Memorial Service at the home of Judd's daughter in Paradise on June 11, 2016. Judd's ashes will be scattered by family members at a private setting in Santa Cruz.

   Angels Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
