What can we tell you About Hadley vs City of Angels Camp?

We did some investigating into the case of Hadley vs the City of Angels Camp. Of course this all goes back to last year when the City Administrator seemingly suddenly and without explanation, fired Craig Hadley, a very popular Angels Camp Museum Director.

At the time, Hadley, who was only working part-time at the museum, had virtually re-vamped, improved, catologued, applied for grants and turned things at the museum around, after years of caring, but credential-lacking help.

Hadley and his wife had remained living in the Lake Tahoe area and he travelled back and forth every few days. Most everyone could see the great effect he was having on the museum.

The only complaints we ever heard here at the Sentinel were that the employees were suddenly asked to do things they had never had to do before, and these were rumors. OH, NO!!

An anonymous source had told us they didn't believe the place even got cleaned very often by the long term employees. There was obvious tension there, that was obvious to everyone in town!!

Now that he has been gone, the museum has gone back into a slump, and many local people tell us they are even less likely to get involved or donate money due to the seeming inability of the City to handle a museum or their employees.

McHatten, the Angels Camp City Administrator named himself the new manager of the museum; without any credentials or curator skills at all, and it shows.

Now there's a law suit, which most everyone in town expected, which means that we, the taxpayers, will yet again likely pay for poor decision-making skills at the City level.
