Pope Frances' First Easter Service/and basket

Pope Frances celebrated his first Easter as the pontiff in the traditional way; in the open square with tens of thousands in attendance.

In his Easter baskest there is a slightly used white arored Mercedes SUV, which Benedict left behind, with white leather interior and gold trim and a white leather turret that can be raised by hydraulic lift high enough for crowds to see the pope, if he wants to sit.

For longer trips around Italy, Benedict injoyed his own helicopter. Bulletproof plexiglas that's strong enough to withstand explosions surrounds the turret on three sides.  There's an emergency oxygen supply built in, according to the vatican.

Life is hard when you're the Pope.
