Student Sentenced for rigging election

A former CalState San Marcos student was sentenced to a year in prison yesterday  for rigging an election for himself.

Matthew Weaver stole the identities of 750 students in order to cast votes for himself in a campus election.

The federal judge, however, seemed the most upset about Weaver's attempt to cover up the crime, however.   This was the first time in the university's 24-year history that something like this had been attempted.
