According to CHP at 7:40 AM on April 1, 2014 Sherry Grundy (60) of Valley Springs was driving west bound on Hwy 12 west of Hillcrest Drive in Valley Springs at approximately 55 MPH.
For unknown reasons Mrs. Grundy allowed her 2005 Honda Accord to leave the roadway, travel approximately 400' and strike a power pole.
Mrs. Grundy was transported by ambulance to Mark Twain Medical Center with inor injuries. Hwy 12 was completely closed to all through traffic for a short time and one-way traffic for hours while the pole was replaced.
