Falling Asleep causes San Andreas Crash

   According to CHP on January 17, 2015 around 11:10 PM Patrick Martin (52) of Morgan Hill was driving a 2011 Suburban on Hwy 49 near Gold Strike Road in San Andreas at approximately 55 MPH when he fell asleep
as he was negotiating a slight curve to the right.

  Mr. Martin then over corrected to the left, causing his Suburban to spin out of control and travel off the east side of the road.

   Mr. Martin traveled down a steep embankment and hit a tree as his vehicle was overturning.    Mr. Martin's vehicle came to rest on its wheels in a pasture.

   Mr. Martin suffered moderate injuries and was taken by air ambulance to a trauma center at Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento.

   His passenger, Ms.  Kathy Martin (53) suffered minor injuries and was taken by ground ambulance to Mark Twain Medical Center for treatment.
