Local residents have threatened to sue both the owners of Weapons Training Facility located on part of the Diestel ranch, and the county of Tuolumne.This range, on a 5 acre parcel leased by the Popke's, was in the process, after 5 years, of applying for a Conditional Use Permit, required by law to operate a gun range.
The Popke's have apparently stated that they cannot afford the lawsuits, and have dropped their application.
