I'm sure we've all seen the ads for the larger towns nearby, like Modesto and Stockton, and even the Bay Area, looking for good police officers to apply and make more money working for them.That is why we lose the best officers; can't blame them. They have families to support and a future to look out for.
As for Calaveras County, that leaves us stuck with, at best the second stringers; the trouble-makers and just plain bad cops. Sheriff Kuntz has admitted it publicly, the best officers leave here to get a good job.
