Hit and Run Arrest in Angels Camp

Timothy Mark Nolan
According to Angels Camp Police, on January 10, 2015 at around 7:28 PM, Angels Camp Police officers were dispatched to a report of a heard only traffic collision in the 1600 block of South Main
Street.

Officers arrived on scene a few minutes later and found that a full size Chevrolet pickup drove off of the west shoulder of South Main Street and collided with a fence, some cement pillars and a tree.

The vehicle sustained major damage to the right side, and the driver fled the scene of the collision prior to the officers arriving.

There were no other vehicles or pedestrians involved.  Evidence located near the scene of the collision indicated that the driver of the truck was entering a turn too fast and drove into the
oncoming, northbound lane of South Main Street.

The driver of the truck attempted to maneuver back into the southbound lane, according to police, overcorrected and then drove off of the west shoulder of South Main Street.

An unidentified witness advised officers that he responded to the location when he heard the collision and attempted to chase the driver of the truck when he fled.

A search of the area began and officers located a subject yelling and screaming in a field that is in the 1700 block of South Main Street, approximately one block away from the site of the collision.

The subject was located and detained with the assistance of a police K-9 and was later identified and subsequently determined to be the driver of the truck involved in the collision.

Timothy Mark Nolan, Jr. a 30 year old Angels Camp resident was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail for the allegedly Driving Under the Influence, Hit and Run and Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer.
