Calaveras Sheriff deputy says $25 an hour is NOT enough!

Although $25 an hour seems like a lot of money for a resident of Calaveras to make, Calaveras Sheriff deputies are complaining and say they are leaving.

Most people were shocked that anyone could complain at that wage. They can't pay their bills?
They can't support their families?

Low rents and other costs in our rural county makes it a good place to live.  Deputies who leave and go to Stockton or Lodi will find the rents much higher and other costs equal.

Get real and stop complaining.  Do your jobs, deputies!!

You people are insane! $4000 a month to risk your life, no thanks. And cheap rent? Where is that at? If we pay less than everyone else then we attract less qualified than everyone else too.

Are you kidding ? I'm a clerk making around $12 an hour. Your life on the line. I'm probably in more danger than you will EVER be!
