Arizona man freed after 42 years

After CBS' "60 minutes" found evidence that 16 year old Louis Taylor had been railroaded, the Arizona legal group The Arizona Justice Project took on his case.

After 42 years behind bars, Mr. Taylor was finally freed. He had been convicted by an all-white jury of starting a hotel fire that killed 29 people.

He had been sentence to multiple life-terms in prison. Taylor was at the hotel that night trying to score some free food and drinks from the Christmas revelers, according to "60 Minutes".

Once the fire broke out, police officers and rescue teams asked Taylor to bang on doors and help injured guests get out.  Hours later, he was blamed for setting the blaze.

He had never been allowed a lawyer during questioning. Although the cause of the fire had been determined at the time to be arson, newer techniques prove that it was a fire of undetermined origin.

The lead investigator in the case admitted in 2002 that his profile of potential suspects included race.

And when we talked about the criminals in Calaveras County who are not even prosecuted! Of course, they are white!
