George Jones has died in Nashville, Tennessee, according to his representative today. He was 81. He had been in the midst of a year-long goodbye tour.
He had been hospitalized on April 18, 2013 with a fever and irregular blood pressure. He died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
With a reported alcohol and cocaine addiction, he is remembered for a famous chase by police car chase through Nashville in 1983.
