Carroll "Augie" Grapentine

    Carroll "Augie" Grapentine, of Valley Springs, passed away of metastic lung cancer at home on April 6, 2013.  He was 66.

   A native of Salinas, his parents were Carrol August Grapentine Sr. and Mary Alice Frank.

   Mr. Grapentine had an AA in Police and Social Science. He served in the Army as a E4 from 1964 -1970 and had been stationed in Germany.

   He had worked at the Department of Corrections for 28 years, was a Christian and and his hobbies included carpentry.  He also loved nature and animals.

   Mr. Grapentine leaves his daughter Heidi Miller, son Chris Grapentine, sister Carolyne Clark and brother David Grapentine.

   A Memorial Service is planned for April 20, 2013 at 11 AM at the San Andreas Memorial Chapel.

   Burial will follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.

   The family would like to thank Chuck Rajewski for his wonderful friendship over the years and amazing care provided in Augies last months of life.
