Sahara Desert had been green only 5000 years before

   In what is considered to be a flash of time, scientists now beleive they have evidence that North Africa's sudden geographical transformation was one of the planet's most dramatic climate shifts.

   The Sahara Desert had been a lakes and grassland area with hippos and giraffes only 5000 years before the sudden change.
