Hwy 120 Closed into Yosemite due to Rim fire

  August 19, 2013:   Hwy 120 was closed about 2:30 PM today due to the Rim Fire near Cherry Lake Rd at Hwy 120 in Tuolumne County and the Stanislaus National Forest .

    Residents of Buck Meadows were notified that the fire is headed their way.

   CHP is handling the closure from just west of Buck Meadows to Ferritti Rd. and are providing traffic control.  In fact, evacuation orders are in effect for residents of Buck Meadows.

    The fire is now 800 acres. Management of the fire has been transferred to Incident Commander David Cooper and the South Central Sierra Interagency Incident Management Team.
